Visit to Allerton Waste Recovery Park
Allerton Waste Recovery Park brings together state-of-the-art technologies to make the most of rubbish from homes in York and North Yorkshire. It has been open since March 2018 and is operated by Amey on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council and the City of York Council.
Tuesday, 23 April, 2019, 3.30-5.00 pm
This new facility is reducing the amount of household waste going to landfill in the county by 90%. Diverting this waste away from landfill means we it can be used to generate enough energy to power the equivalent of 40,000 homes.
There are 15 space available on this organised tour. Please let Sidney McDermott know if you would like to be included. Once the places are taken we will start to create a waiting list and arrange a further visit, should there be sufficient interest.
The Allerton Waste Recovery Park is located approximately 6 miles from Knaresborough, just off the A1. Please let Sidney know if you require transport and we will try to arrange a car share.
