Nidderdale Climate and Environment Group invite you to join them for a screening of the film 'Before the Flood'.
In late 2014, Leonardo DiCaprio called Fisher Stevens with an idea: he wanted to collaborate on a documentary exploring the causes and effects of climate change around the world, and the urgent need to transition away from fossil fuels - starting right away.
“Time is not a luxury we have,” said DiCaprio. “Our natural world is quickly nearing unprecedented, irreversible and catastrophic change that threatens the very future of humankind. I didn’t want the film to scare people, or present them with statistics and facts that they already know, but to focus on what can and must be done immediately so that we can leave our planet a liveable home for future generations. We are quickly running out of time.”
Donations towards costs appreciated.
Tea and coffee will be served from 7.15 pm
A follow up discussion will be held on Saturday 6 April to explore ideas and ways of taking the themes from the film further in Nidderdale – venue to be announced.
