Enjoy a Sustainable Christmas

Christmas can be a time of happiness and sharing but it is also a time of excess and waste. From the wrapping paper and decorations to the food and unwanted presents, Christmas creates a lot of carbon emissions.

Thursday 5 December 2019, 19.30 - 21.15

Friends Meeting House
12A Queen Parade

Come and find out how to enjoy a more sustainable Christmas without everyone calling you Scrooge!

The evening will begin with some seasonal refreshment and then our guest speaker - a local Councillor - will give us an update on the progress being made to establish a Climate Coalition in the Harrogate District. This coalition will bring together organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors, in order to champion carbon reduction throughout the Harrogate Disctrict, thereby helping to achieve net zero emissions.

We will then have an interactive presentation showing what a low carbon Christmas can look like, with a chance to ask questions and suggest ideas.

The evening will finish with the Zero Carbon Harrogate AGM, to which all are welcome but only those holding membership can vote.

Seasonal refreshments will be served from 19.15.

This is a free of charge event open to everyone.
