High Water, Common Ground

Screening of the film, which looks at ways to manage the risk of flooding

Tuesday, 17 April, 2018, 7.15pm

St Mark's Church
Leeds Road
Harrogate, HG2 8AY

This film shows the techniques which are being explored and adopted to lower the risk of flooding. It highlights the importance of shared responsibility and the need to fully understand the flood ‘system’.

Whether through the conservation of peat moorland; the planting of animal shelter belts; establishment of upstream bunds and woodlands or the control of building on flood plains, it becomes clear that through the use of an holistic and integrated approach the risk of flooding can be reduced and managed in a sustainable way.

This event is suitable for anyone interested in flood management but primarily aimed at those involved with land management.

We would like to request a donation of £5 per person attending the event, to cover the cost of the venue but we do not want this to be a barrier to attendance.

If possible can you please book in advance to help us know numbers. If that's not possible then just turn up on the evening.
