YOUR TIPS AND EXPERIENCES

Thursday, 19 November, 2020
We support many cooperative renewable energy generation projects. We have been members of CAT for around 30 years and walk and cycle for any short journeys. We have used Good Energy since they started for our electricity and now for gas, as one of the true 100% renewable and ethical electric companies that encourage increases in renewable generation and do not buy other companies' renewable energy certificates to call themselves green.

Sharing our experiences

I want to do my part in protecting the environment for future generations. I walk or cycle as much as I can, but I want to try and get others to do their part too.

Information needed on local suppliers
Sunday, 28 June, 2020
What I have found really useful are the resources posted by the Climate Coalition for the recent The Time is Now campaign especially the training in how to speak to your MP which has inspired me to make contact. What I'm struggling with is finding information about truly local suppliers and their environmental credentials.

Went vegetarian and go shopping on foot or bike
Thursday, January 23, 2020
It's much more fun because I often bump into someone to chat to on the way! Because we now mostly buy seasonal fruit and veg for just a few days ahead we have reduced emissions from food waste by not buying too much at a time.

Think about your transport needs
Friday, January 03, 2020
I'm pledging to research how to drive to reduce my carbon emissions. I try to avoid using the car as much as possible. I prefer to walk or cycle for short journeys (helps with my fitness) and take public transport for longer ones (less stressful than driving). When I do need to use the car I want to learn how to drive energy efficiently.

Let the train take the strain
Thursday, January 02, 2020
I have already done 8 of these things but will research driving in a greener way. I do home visits in Leeds which means I am unable to get round my client base on public transport. I pledge to reduce my airmiles by visiting family using the train system where possible.
