Resurrected Bites Café

Café serving redirected food launched in Harrogate

Saturday, January 20, 2018

Michelle Hayes leader of the Food Group at Zero Carbon Harrogate has setup the Resurrected Bites Café at St Mark’s Church on Leeds road in Harrogate, serving food redirected from supermarkets that would normally have gone to waste.

It is open to all and rather than prices being fixed customers pay what they want or what they feel is appropriate.

Duncan Milwain, a trustee of the Real Junk Food Project, who supported the opening, had this to say;

“Although the café is using food that would have otherwise been wasted, this is not a soup kitchen, a food bank or something for the poor or homeless – it’s for everyone. It’s about creating a community and changing people’s attitudes.”

NOW OPEN
